  1. In the first chapter there's the account of how and whom the sisters married; Miss Maria marries Sir Thomas and her status improves its funny how this still happens in our society today. Is that a basis on which marriage relationships should be formed?

  2. There are not so many men of large fortune as there are pretty women to deserve them. This is funny but so true, the world's pretty women are a whole lot more than the rich men, so women who want to live a life of comfort should work hard at it or be forced to join in the struggle for the few not available men of large fortune.

  4. Typical Jane Austen.....always rushing to the story before the reader....not done with Chapter one yet but i just cant help but see her running to the story before we get a grasp of the background!

  5. @Barzini Jane Austen has a special way of telling her stories, dont think she rushed into you get deep into it, the story is just unfolding step by step......

  6. In the third chapter I wonder why Mrs Norris is so opposed to the idea of having Fanny live with her?

  10. Selfishness must always be forgiven, you know, because there is no hope of a cure." - Miss Crawford. Lol
What do you think about the above perception.

  11. @Sinairesse I agree with you there a connection between Fanny and Edmund like she has with no other, it probably stems from the fact that he is protective of her, and girls develop feelings quickly with such connection.

  12. @ZeEsse, lol... she is right though, there is no cure or hope for the selfish. Miss Crawford seems like she knows Fanny likes Edmund and she wants all his attention. Poor Fanny.

  13. I feel, caging Fanny is a way of control so she doesnt get to have any fun and continues to take care of all her stupid aunties, so unfair
